Future Game Features! Confirmed By Kevin Kelley (NOTE: Read bold words first before reading the lists)
To All
As many of you have noticed, there have been quite a lot of requests for ApocZ, many of them new and many of them duplicated. The purpose of this thread is to compile an official list that all ApocZ players can reference and submit changes to. Kevin will sticky this post so everyone can see the running list, which I will manage either by finding the suggestions myself, or by using posts on this thread that are new suggestions.
The purpose of this thread is to have an already created list, with no duplicates, of changes that we want added into the game that Sick Kreations can reference when it comes time to start adding in more content. Ultimately we will also vote on which ones we want the most to further help Sick Kreations determine the priority in which suggestions shall be added.
I will add in the suggestions I find on my own time, but feel free to list them in this thread as well. I will not add any duplicate suggestions; only new ones.
Map/Environment
- A weather system that includes weather effects, such as rain, thunder, fog, and snow.
- Plants that can be foraged for food in the forest areas of the map, such as berry bushes, various produce, and fruits.
- Static objects that can be used as cover as well as provide a more "realistic" feel to the game, such as sand bags, barbed wire, etc.
- A larger map.
- Graveyards that exist in each town that will spawn zombies. These would include mausoleums and tombstones. The zombies also will wander towards the nearest towns after they spawn here.
- Fresh water sources that would allow you to refill your canteens and empty cans, such as wells, ponds, etc.
- Animals that can be hunted for food and supplies, such as fur and meat.
- Collectable wood (from trees) and scrap iron that can be used to build shelters, walls, and other various structures.
- Tall grass, that when crouched or laid on (if prone feature is added) will part, allowing the player a good field of vision as well as indicate to other players that someone is in the grassy area.
- Make the temperature at night go down and make players have to stay warm with a campfire/warm clothes, otherwise they suffer penalties that will eventually result in death.
- Add in more ambient sound effects, such as wind, moving water, etc.
- More variation in foliage, such as trees and bushes that differ from the current ones.
- Add tunnels, caves, and bridges.
- The ability to add a gate to "the army base" that only certain people can enter.
- More cities/town/landmarks on the map.
- Longer day/night cycles.
- Add in more variety to the spawn points so everyone doesn't only spawn at the coast.
- Islands that you can swim to that have their own unique features/landmarks.
- The ability (if there is an update allowing you to go into buildings) to barricade windows and doors.
- Objects that cause a lot of noise when stepped on, such as broken branches.
- Render the map further so you can see things like grass and whatnot from long distances.
- Add irradiated areas of the map.
- Randomly spawn in "crash sites" were destroyed vehicles with thick black smoke are. These would have lots of loot as well as rare loot and would attract players from across the entire map.
- At night replace the bird noises with owls, frogs, and animal noises (such as wolves).
- Add more foliage that can be used to hide tents.
- Lower branches on evergreen trees to help concealment.
- Make the sun more noticeable and "sphere like".
- Add more static lights that turn on at night.
- Add ladders that allow you to climb onto certain buildings.
- Change the "sky box" to a cylinder and flip it 90 degrees.
Weapons
- Larger weapon variety, including gun types (such as sub machine guns), gun models (such as HK M416), and melee weapons (such as a katana).
- Weapon attachments that would be extremely rare to find, such as bayonets, scopes, extended mags, etc.
- Add "glow" effect around guns at night that only the player holding the weapon can see. This is to prevent the weapon from blending into the darkness when not using a flashlight.
- Lower weapon spawn rates across the entire map. This is to prevent weapons from being too easily accessible and create a more "natural" survival experience.
- No explosives due to how easy it can be used to kill other players.
- Attempting to fire a weapon you have no ammo for will automatically switch weapons.
- Rare weapons that have a permanently attached silencer, but have decreased range and stopping power (damage).
- Unused ammo in a clip goes into your inventory as an "empty clip" and ammo. They could be combined later if more ammo is found into a "full clip". Empty clips and loose ammo would be items that could be found as well as the rare "full clips".
- Bear traps that can immobilize or hinder player movement as well as cause bleeding.
- The ability to find weapon camos/skins/shrouds that can be added onto any gun.
- Decoy grenades that do no damage, but cause noise that attracts zombies and sounds like guns (attracting players).
- When holding a gun, if not used (fired, reloaded, or aimed) within a certain amount of time it gets lowered rather than staying shouldered.
- Add in crossbows, which would be a rare find.
- Add tracer rounds to all guns.
- Add select fire to automatic weapons.
- Make melee weapons more comment over guns (if more melee weapons are added).
- Add bullet drop to sniper rifles.
- Change melee weapons so you swing them from right to left rather than top to bottom to allow you to hit more targets at once.

- Add in tasers that can incapacitate players for a limited time.
- Add IED's/mines that will kill players who are too close, and knock out/injure players who are far enough away when it detonates.
- If using a sniper during the day, there is lens glare.
- Add in spike strips that can be deployed anywhere. If a car rolls over one, it will loose 2 wheels.
- Add a flare gun that can be used to signal other people, distract zombies, and light up dark areas.
- The ability to craft weapons and weapon attachments.
Supplies
- An in game map that can be collected of the area. Many people tend to agree that this should be a rare find. If you have this map, it would add a mini map to your HUD, similar to how a compass shows orientation.
- Camp fires that can be used as a light source as well as to cook food.
- Other sources of lights, such as lanterns, torches, night vision, etc.
- Craftable items that can be made by combining multiple items from the game. For example, combining a can, bandage, and gasoline will create a firebomb.
- The ability to find unique outfits in one the map, such as police uniforms, or military outfits.
- The addition of armor, such as riot gear, military body armor, duct tape armor, and ghillie suits.
- Sleeping bags that would allow you to set your spawn point the next time you joined a server.
- Flood lights that can be found and powered by gasoline.

- Clothing that can be found that has more "pockets"/carrying capacity for more inventory slots.
- A watch that would allow you to have a time indicator on your HUD.
- Food gives more blood when eaten.
- Add in hand cuffs and/or zip ties to immobilize other players temporarily.
- Thrown objects that can be used to distract zombie, such as cans or flares.
- Randomized loot chests that spawn into the game with rare or abundant supplies.
- More variation in flashlights, such as brighter lights.
- Rare health kits that can be used to restore blood.
- Add in items that require batteries, such as GPS. Make flashlights run on batteries.
- Add in binoculars and range finders.
- Make clothing "tearable" so you can make bandages out of it.
- The ability to rotate tents when placed on the ground.
- Add irradiated food, water, and radiation pill (pills reduce radiation while food and water increase it). Add radiation suits.
- Having some kind of item, such as a rubber hose, that would allow you to siphon gas from vehicles.
- Add in fishing equipment that can be used to catch fish.
- Make back packs items that you can pick up and store in the event that you die and loose the one you had equipped.

- Have multiple types of tents that can only hold a certain amount of items, such as a small tent (50 items), medium tent (120 items), and large tent (250 items). If in your inventory, each larger tent size takes up more inventory space.
- Have a limit to how many tents a player can deploy.
- Make all items that don't take up more than one inventory item stack up to a certain amount and have a "x#" to indicate how many you have for that stack. For example, bottles of water would stack on one another.
- Make loot spawn in areas other than in front of buildings.
- Find "vests" in the game that allow you to carry more and defend against guns based on the size and type of vest.
- Make items have "weight" that will restrict player movement and carrying capacity based on how much a player can carry.
- Set up a feature that will not allow players to pick up deployed tents unless the tent has no items in it. This will prevent people from simply picking up a deployed tent to drop all items into the world.
- Add number values to food and water items so it only restores your food and water number by that amount.
- Add the ability to name/label tents.
- Make food, water, and blood degrade slower, while also decreasing the spawn rate of food, water, and bandages. The idea is that this will create a more natural "survival" feel.
- Once a player has not had a light shined in their vision for a certain amount of time (say 20 seconds), they will have a "night vision" effect, just like in real life when your eyes adjust to the darkness. Shining a light into your eyes will remove this.
- More customization for the player creator. This would include, but not be limited to, more races to select from, the ability to change body/facial feature, female option, more clothes options, customizable clothes options, add face paint, etc.

- Add in RPG effects that allow you to make your character tougher the longer they survive.
- The ability to add hair and beards.
- Ability to sprint while switching equipped weapons.
- Update the jump so players jump more "naturally" as well as allow them to jump onto things.
- The ability to create and name multiple characters.
- Ability to lean using the left and right bumpers, or some other combination of buttons.
- Increased punching damage at the sacrifice of your starting axe.
- If both food and water are above a certain level (say 75) blood would replenish slowly.
- If players get too low on blood, water, and food, they will become very slow and can hardly move unless given blood by another player.
- Add gamertags above player heads.
- Add the ability to swim.
- Add the ability to shove zombies to push them away.
- Players can get sick from either getting hit too many times by zombies, bleeding for too long, or eating bad food. - If players fall to far or gets shot in the leg, but must make a splint or suffer a constant movement penalty.
- If bleeding, add in the effect of your character actually bleeding, such as blood pooling on the ground.
- When you aim down the site of a gun in third person, it should take you into first person until you stop aiming.
- The ability to climb over fences.
- Be able to mark areas of interest for yourself when you are aiming as something.
- If a player takes too much damage from a zombie, they will take constant "zombie virus" damage unless they find unique medicine that is specific to curing this. If they die in this state, they die, and the body reanimates as an AI controlled zombie (similar to the suggestion currently posted under the "Zombies" section).
- Have the option to immediately commit suicide in the event you get stuck.
Player Interactions
- Add in a currency system that revolves around something that is very rare and can only be used as currency. This will allow players to assign value and trade in game. This can be as simple as cash, or it can be something unique.
- Surround sound that will allow players to hear what direction zombies or players are moving.
- The ability to see backpacks on other players that have them.
- The ability to see any weapons the player currently has equipped. For example, if they have their axe out, but also have a shotgun equipped, other players could see the shotgun on their back.
- Have an "action wheel" that would allow you to perform basic, yet informative, animations such as threaten, point, surrender, etc.
- If you are close enough to a player with a backpack, you can steal equipment from their pack.
- Ability to draw blood from other players.
- When a player talked in game chat, have a gamer tag with a speaker logo appear in the top corner of the screen indicating who is talking.
- Add clan tags that can be associated to characters.
- Once someone kills a designated number of player, they get a red armband that appears on them to indicate that they kill players.
- If a players backpack gets shot (if the game is updated to indicate backpacks on other players), some of the food and supplies are ruined.
- After you kill a player, once you go to loot them, it shows the players name when you bring up their inventory screen.
- Have a message that appears on the left of all players' screens after someone dies saying "so and so died". This will not state who or what killed them.
- The ability to tag players from the player menu as friendly, and if they also mark you as friendly, it will indicate on the map where both of you are to one another, and it will turn off friendly fire against one another.
- When you die, have a kill cam while you respawn that shows who or what killed you.
- Players can knock out other players if they approach from behind with no weapons equipped.
- Add in rare drugs that players can use to poison food/water to put other players to sleep (incapacitate them) or kill them.
- Have some sort of hidden scoring system that tracks if players are killing others to "gratuitously" to prevent spawn camping or server hopping then killing. Anyone who has too high of a score either can only join certain servers (if they are added) or can only join a server/start a server and have people join with this same scoring. Over time the score would go down, allowing players to still steal and loot, but not spawn kill people.
- Make gamertags appear on other players if within close proximity or if you have your aimed weapon on them for long enough.
- Additional tagging and stat options that allow you to get an idea of how others play the game and mark them appropriately.
User Interface/HUD/Inventory
- The ability to see how much ammo you have total for the gun you currently have equipped.
- The ability to remove your reticule and HUD from the options menu.
- More options for/customizable reticule display.
- Display a stamina counter/meter for run energy.
- The ability to add guns to inventory slots so you can carry multiple guns back to camp.
- The ability to move/organize your inventory.
- Update the inventory screen to be simpler and more user friendly.
- A "hot bar" that can be used to select specific weapons rather than have to cycle through.
- Replace blood, water, and food "0-100" system with one that only states a "status", such as hungry, dehydrated, starving, etc.
- Compass shows the direction of your nearest tent.
- Be able to access gamercards from the player menu.
- Make the inventory screen transparent.
- Add a hot bar to the bottom of the screen to show what you have equipped.
- Have text that appears on the screen indicating where you currently are on the map.
- Add in a hit marker feature in the reticule.
- Add the ability to view a page (similar to the inventory page) that allows you to view stats, such as zombie kills, player kills, items looted, etc, as well as have the ability to toggle these stats to display on the HUD.
Zombies
- Make the zombie movements more smooth and natural.
- Update zombies to have a line of sight rather than a radial detection system. This would allow players to employ stealth at night and during the day as long as they do not get within a zombies field of vision. This would also solve the problem of zombies "seeing" you through building and fences when you get too close to them.
- A variety in zombie types, such as armored "military" zombies, fat tough zombies, crawling zombies, runners, etc.
- Lower the zombie count while also increasing zombie threat. The idea is that this would clear up server space, make it easier to stealth into cities, and keep people from having to fight "too many zombies" for equipment while still making them a threat since they do more damage and take more damage.
- Zombie animals that roam in the forest areas of the maps, such as wolves or bears.
- Roaming zombie hoards that would include an extreme amount of zombies and would pretty much be certain death to take head on.
- Once a large amount of zombies on a server are killed (such as 500) a large, very difficult zombie spawns randomly on the map. People can attempt to take it down for impressive swag.
- Creating noise, such as driving a car or shooting a gun, attracts zombies from greater distances.
- Give zombies a rare chance of dropping low value loot, such as a bottle of water, some food, or some bandages.
- Lower the rate that zombies cause bleeding.
- Add in "zombie pets".
- If a player dies in a way other than being shot in the head, their body will reanimate as an AI controlled zombie.
Towns/Cities/Bases/Landmarks
- Buildings that include interiors that you can access through openable doors.
- Lower zombie populations in large cities.
- Add more military/defensible areas.
- Add in more "functional" buildings (building that provide a specific purpose such as the military base for weapons), such as restaurants for food, hospitals for medical supplies, weapon shops, etc.
- Add in more details to the military base, such as watchtowers, gates, etc.
- Add in zones that no zombies will spawn and no players can attack one another (safe zone). In this zone you can buy things and store infinite amount of items in a locker/container.
- In each town/landmark add a flag pole that allows you to raise 1 of X predetermined flags to signify what type of players own that area.
Vehicles
- The ability for more people to ride in vehicles. The amount of seats available on the vehicle should determine how many people can ride in one.
- The ability to store equipment in vehicles while on the server for transporting purposes.
- Flying vehicles, such as planes and helicopters.
- Some vehicle have tires that you can take using a toolbox.
- Add in non-motorized vehicles, such as bikes.
- Have keys for cars so only the people with the car key can use it.
- Add more vehicle types, such as military vehicles.
- The ability to customize and save vehicles in a garage.
- The ability to add decals (that you have to find) onto cars, paint cars, upgrade cars.
Servers
- Smaller servers that only allow up to 12 people. The purpose would be for smoother game play as well as allow for more content to be added onto the map.
- Larger servers that allow for even more people.
- A few dedicated servers that never "refresh" when everyone leaves. To clarify, say the ability to build structures was added. You could build a camp on this server, put your tent and supplies in it, and then when you leave the server, other players can still see and interact with it (just as you could with their stuff). When you get back on, assuming nobody destroyed your camp, everything would still be there.
- Add fog for the purpose of limiting player site to increase overall server stability.
- The option for dedicated hardcore servers that have no HUD, less damage resistance (for players), tougher zombie, and/or more zombies.
- Have randomized air drops on the server that will drop something in a random location that anyone can take.
- Remove the ability to play offline.
- Allow players to host/save their own servers, as well as give them certain moderator options.
Miscellaneous
- Zombie sharks, sloths, and dinosaurs. Yes I did find this while searching the forums.
- Faster max look sensitivity.
- Offline mode stops time when paused.
- More gore and blood effects (volume).
- AI controlled survivors, soldiers, and traders. that would have randomized traits. Some would shoot you on site, while other will ignore you completely. Some may even help you.
- The ability to find or create different tent models to customize it.
- In game achievements that award player skins and apparel.
- Add safes that you can input a code on to store your supplies.
- The ability to bury gear to hide it.
- When you attempt to leave a server, a message appears counting down from 15 before you can actually leave. If you attempt to move other than looking around, it will cancel the logout. If you attempt to dashboard, your character will simply stand in place for 15 seconds before exiting.
- Make the right thumbstick activate your flashlight.
- If you get killed, you have the option to spawn in as a zombie. If you do, you cannot pick up equipment; you can only attack other players.
- Add in the ability to turn off gore.
- If you are bleeding, your clothes will eventually get bloody if you have that status for too long.
- For some specific examples of new suggestions regarding character models and weapons see
- Be able to adjust brightness from the menus.
- Have a creator tool that allows players to edit and create content for new maps and features. They could then submit these creations to the developers.
As many of you have noticed, there have been quite a lot of requests for ApocZ, many of them new and many of them duplicated.
